Originally established in Western Australia in the late 1980s under the name GBC Scientific, the company built a strong reputation in analytical testing, particularly in Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) for metals analysis. We not only supplied but also serviced GBC scientific instruments, offering reliable support to laboratories across the region.

As our product range expanded beyond AAS, we rebranded as Laboratory Analysers Australia (LAA) to reflect our broader capabilities and industry reach.

In 2015, Compliance Monitoring Pty Ltd acquired LAA, integrating our technical expertise with their advanced environmental monitoring solutions. This strategic merger streamlined operations, enhanced our service delivery, and strengthened our ability to serve key markets through Compliance Equipment Pty Ltd, trading as LAA. In 2025 CE/LAA was absorbed by Compliance Monitoring Pty Ltd to operate under the name CM Instruments.
